Maggie Rose, Brent Cobb & More to Tribute to ‘Wanted! The Outlaws’

Maggie Rose, Brent Cobb & More to Tribute to ‘Wanted! The Outlaws’

The outlaws are coming to Nashville. On Tuesday, August 6, Rolling Stone will team up with George Dickel Whisky to present a tribute to Wanted! The Outlaws, the first country music album to ever go Platinum.

Hosted by Rolling Stone’s Senior Music Editor Joseph Hudak, the event will feature cover performances from the album by Silverada, Taylor Hunnicutt, Brent Cobb and Maggie Rose, each an “outlaw” in the way they approach their music.

With her raspy, soulful vocals and rock & roll attitude — not to mention a prime opening slot on the Red Clay Strays’ tour — Alabama native Hunnicutt is a rising star on the outlaw scene. Songs like “Alabama Sound” and “All or Nothin’” reflect a showstopping performer primed for stardom.

Texas band Silverada (formerly known as Mike and the Moonpies) have gone from honky-tonk heroes to headlining gigs. This year, they released an eponymous album under their new name and celebrated with a headlining show at Nashville’s famous Ryman Auditorium.

Cobb takes inspiration from his home state of Georgia, where Southern rock, soul, the blues, and country music collide. That sonic fusion shaped Cobb’s prolific songwriting abilities, making him the writer of choice for artists like Miranda Lambert and Luke Combs. On Cobb’s own songs, like those from his latest album Southern Star, his soulful voice commands quiet attention as he tells the stories of rural life in the South.

Rose may not be synonymous with the gritty country circuit, but the powerful vocalist’s rebellious attitude and off-the-beaten-path approach to her career make her “outlaw” in every sense of the word. Rose leaned into her soulful stylings and created a lane of her own with the release of No One Gets Out Alive, one of Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2024 So Far. It showcases her reinvention — not to mention killer vocals and skillful songwriting.

The event will take place at the famous Nashville Palace honky-tonk, where names like Randy Travis first got their start. After solo performances of some of the most beloved outlaw country songs in history (all backed by Silverada), the artists will take to the stage for a rousing finale and a toast to Rolling Stone Country’s 10th anniversary with a shot of Dickel Whisky.
