John Schneider Reveals Someone Stole His General Lee

The Dukes of Hazzard star John Scheider is forever tied to the iconic car from the series, the General Lee, and he owns an exact replica that his late wife gave him as a gift. The actor and singer turned to social media to reveal that someone had stolen the car after his wife’s death — and he thinks he knows who it was.

Schneider turned to Facebook to post a cryptic message about the situation, revealing that the car has been missing for months and alleging that someone is seeking to sell it off without his permission.

“It’s a very sad day for me because I just discovered who has had my General Lee all these month,” Schneider writes.

“The saddest part is that they somehow feel that even though they know all the circumstances under which Alicia gifted him to me (live on Facebook for my birthday) that he somehow belongs to them and it is within their rights to personally gain from his sale among other things.”

Schneider says he plans to “do everything I can to stop this from happening,” but adds that he takes “solace in the knowledge that both God and Alicia are watching. Closely.”

“While I would never name names,” he finishes, “I believe Rosco would say: ‘Shame, shame! Everybody knows your name!’ Truly disappointed.”

Schneider’s wife, Alicia Allain, died on Feb. 21, 2023, at the age of 53 at the couple’s home in Louisiana after a four-year battle with breast cancer.

Schneider and Allain married in 2019, and they co-produced a string of independent films together, including To Die For in 2022. She also worked with Schneider on some of his musical projects.
