Garth Brooks + Trisha Yearwood Speak Out About Lainey Wilson’s Grand Ole Opry Induction

Although McEntire invited Wilson to become a member of the Opry, it was Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood who officially inducted Wilson on June 7.

During the induction ceremony, Yearwood said, “You get it. You know what it means to love country music. You love the Grand Ole Opry, and that’s what it’s all about.”

The “She’s In Love With the Boy” singer continued. “When I think about the future of country music, I know with you in it, we’re gonna be okay.”

After the induction, Brooks had something to add on his Studio G podcast. He compared Wilson to country icon Reba McEntire.

The “The Thunder Rolls” singer said:

“She’s the first woman, probably since Reba, that you look at and go, this woman is gonna be around for a long, long time. She’s a current fad that’s going to last 40 years.”

For someone like Wilson, getting the stamp of approval like this from McEntire, Brooks and Yearwood means more to her than we might ever know.

Wilson turned to TikTok the day after her induction into the Opry and expressed all of her emotions.

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Wilson will continue to have an epic career, and having the stamp approval from Brooks and Yearwood certainly helps.

Although it’s unclear when their romance began, the pair made their first pubic appearance together at the 2023 ACM Awards. Then, they attended the CMA Awards together that fall.

Wilson has spoken very little about Hodges, but she did share that she’s not afraid to put him to work around her home in Nashville.

“I put him to work,” Wilson told Taste of Country ahead of the 2023 CMA Awards. “Look, he’s got a long list of things. I’m like, ‘Take the trash out, mow the yard, do something with the flower beds, feed the dogs.'”
