Probably that we shouldn’t commit felonies
Noted respecter of the rule of law, Jason Aldean, expressed his displeasure with the rule of law after Donald Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
Doing his best impression of the flagpole outside Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s home, Aldean posted an upside down American flag on Instagram after the verdict came in yesterday, May 30. (The upside-down flag, as the Alito scandal has brought to the fore, is a symbol of solidarity among Trump supporters, who think the 2020 election was stolen.)
“Scary times in our country right now, man,” bemoaned Aldean. “When a former POTUS gets treated like this by our justice system, what does that mean for the rest of us???” (If we were to guess, it probably means the rest of us also can’t expect to get away with trying to cover up hush money payments to a mistress because we’re worried public knowledge of the affair might scuttle our chances at becoming president.)
Aldean continued: “If there was ever a time to speak up, ITS NOW! Make no mistake…. We are in trouble.”

The country star’s equally outspoken and concerned wife, Brittany, expressed her concerns as well, busing out the all-caps for her Instagram post: “WE LOVE YOU @realdonaldtrump,” she wrote. “The ones with a brain can see through the smear campaign.”
There’s of course plenty of mutual admiration between the Aldeans and Trump. Brittany Aldean was quick to spread misinformation about the Jan. 6 rioters on social media back in 2021, and the couple has since spent New Year’s Eve with Trump at Mar-A-Lago. Trump also voiced his support of Aldean’s controversial song “Try That in a Small Town,” which, of course, famously takes a strong stance against ne’er-do-wells who break the law.
