Luke Bryan released the smash hit “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day,” but hopefully, none of those fish are bass.
Bryan admitted in an interview with Katie Neal that he is allergic to bass, which causes him to get red eyes and a stuffy nose, among other ailments.
“If I look like I’ve been smoking pot, that’s not true, I’ve been catching bass,” the country superstar tells Neal.
The 47-year-old singer and entertainer even says that the allergy is so evident that if he does hook a bass while out fishing, someone else needs to remove the hook to avoid the swelling and discoloration on his hands and eyes. His allergy goes back to when he would go fishing as a kid, but his dad didn’t give him any meds; he just told him to “suck it up.”

Bryan is an avid fisherman, even when his allergies kick up. His Instagram has many instances of him out fishing, including the time he went with his mom in October.
