Dustin Lynch Sees No Point in Doing This on a Plane

Dustin Lynch Sees No Point in Doing This on a Plane

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Dustin Lynch?

It shouldn’t be any surprise to Taste of Country readers that Dustin Lynch is a licensed pilot, but there is one thing that he won’t do when he is in the air… jump.

Lynch joined Taste of Country Mornings with Wood and Nicole, and when they were discussing daredevil feats, jumping out of a plane came up. Wood asked Lynch if he had ever done it since he is a pilot, and the singer wanted nothing to do with it.

“I was gonna go do that and then my team was like, ‘you know you could hit the ground and mess your knees up really badly, even if you land correctly,” he said.

He went on to say he just doesn’t see the point in it.

Believe it or not, jumping out of an airplane isn’t that dangerous? In 2023 the United States Parachute Association stated that 10 people perished while jumping, but when you consider that they tracked more than 3.65 million jumps across the United States you can see the odds are quite low.

Dustin Lynch was correct when discussing jumping, as the most common injury from jumping from a plane is ankle injuries. The good news is that it’s getting much safer to jump as there has been a downward trend, despite more jumps, in the past 20 years.

Just don’t expect to see Dustin Lynch up there the next time you want to take the big leap. Lynch has a new album Killed the Cowboy, out now, featuring his smash hit with Jelly Roll, “Chevrolet.”

Wood is host of the Taste of Country Mornings With Wood and Nicole, which can be heard every morning from 6-10AM CT on the Taste of Country app, on local affiliates where available and online at tasteofcountry.com.
