Carly Pearce is pulling back the curtain on the beauty secrets she’s been gatekeeping.

The country singer recently turned to social media to clear up a big assumption regarding her long, luscious locks of hair. As it turns out… it’s fake!

“For all you gals who tell me every night how pretty my hair is.. it’s fake!!!” she writes next to a photo of her surprisingly short hair. “This is my hair without any extensions.”

“Here’s to normalizing what’s real and what isn’t & being okay with it,” she continues, adding she is happy to share a link for others to purchase the same extensions she wears.

The photo is a little alarming, given fans are used to seeing the “Truck on Fire” singer with hair cascading down to her waist. However, her followers were quick to shower her with compliments, and some even pleaded she keep the look permanently.

“Honestly, I thought you cut your hair and I thought it looked fire,” fellow country singer Kassi Ashton shares in the comments.

“You’re beautiful with or without the hair,” one writes. “We all love you for YOU!!! And for sharing your songs with us.”

“Pls wear your hair that way more often,” another chimes in.

“If only we could all be as vulnerable and real as you Carly,” a fan types.

Pearce shared in her Instagram stories that she gets her extensions from a brand called Luxy Hair. She said she’s been using them for years and that many of her fans had no idea it wasn’t her natural hair.
