College Football Is Back: Who Is Playing When?

Well, we’ve made it! After no college football for the last 228 days, the college football season kicks off Saturday (Aug. 2) with a small slate of games of only four games.

But let’s be honest, after 228 days, us football fans will take anything we can get.

The most notable matchup actually goes down outside of the United States, as Florida State will take on Georgia Tech at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Florida State has a Top 10 ranking heading into the game and will look to rebound from last year’s disappointing finish to their season.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are a team on the rise, fresh off a 7-6 season and landing a five star offensive lineman a week ago.

Vegas gamblers think this one should be heavily in favor of the ‘Noles, as they are 10 point favorites. That game is set for a 12PM ET kickoff on ESPN.

The other matchups may lack the appeal of a Top 10 team, but there are some intriguing games:

SMU will take on Nevada on the road — a game that will be televised on CBS Sports Network at 8PM ET. SMU is a brand new member of the ACC, settling there after the latest round of realignment.

And for you true college football sickos, your evening plans have been made, as Hawaii will host the Hornets of Delaware State with a kickoff still technically happening on Saturday (kickoff at 11:59PM).

Enjoy the college football season, it will be gone before you know it.
