Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney have been friends for a long time, and the two have shared some good times together. One story that they still laugh about is the time Chesney accidentally attended the ACM Awards with pink toenails.
Let’s back up and tell you the whole story.
What’s With Kenny Chesney’s Pink Toenails?
According the McGraw, years ago he invited Chesney over to hang out by the pool with the family. His daughters were young at the time, and his daughter Gracie decided to paint both her dad and Chesney’s toenails with pink nail polish.
The following week, both country artists were in Los Angeles for the ACM Awards, and one of them forgot to remove the polish before traveling.
“I was wise enough to remove the pain on my toenails,” McGraw recalls.
Chesney, on the other hand, was not, and it made for an embarrassing moment for the “Just to Say We Did” singer.
“So I’m hanging out at the pool at the hotel — you know, a lot of country artists are hanging out there,” McGraw recounts. “So, Kenny comes down to the pool, takes his tennis shoes off.”
“He had forgotten that his toenails were painted pink.”
Apparently, Chesney went through the entire awards show with pink toes.

Tim McGraw and his wife Faith Hill have three daughters: Gracie, Maggie and Audrey. All three have since grown up and moved out of the house, leaving the two singers as empty-nesters.
