Couple Send Out ‘You Are Not Invited Cards’ Before Wedding

An individual took to Reddit to share their dismay with their cousin who is getting married soon.

They explained that the bride and groom have sent out “you are not invited cards” to people who won’t be attending the ceremony.

The couple is apparently planning a “small garden wedding,” and therefore keeping the guest list small as well.

For those who won’t be receiving invitations to come to the wedding, they instead will be receiving a card that reads: “You are in our hearts on this special day.”

“Their excuse is for the sake of ‘curiosity and thinking of them.’ But what I don’t understand is why send this BEFORE the wedding. It would make more sense AFTER and send it out to them,” the confused family member wrote.

For those lucky enough to cop an invite, they will apparently be asked to help set up for the reception.

“I got a text from the couple saying that ‘Everyone has a role to help set up. Once the ceremony is done the wedding party will leave to take photos while the GUESTS set up the tables for the reception,'” they recalled.

“I was like what??? They never ASKED if people are willing to do that as if they just dictated people what to do,” the person added.

Users sounded off in the comments, with many blasting the bride and groom for their awful behavior.

“What they are planning sucks and is rude and that’s the reason to not attend. If you do want to go to see family and to see a possible train wreck, make it clear that you aren’t going to help set anything up. If she sends you a notice of your ‘job,’ reply back that you have other plans and will catch up with her at the reception,” one person wrote.

“Yeah, I’d tell them that I would be holding them close to my heart on their day and head out to somewhere I wanted to go to,” another user scoffed.

“The cards to the non-invited guests has big Eric Cartman energy. ‘Look at this amazing wedding, it’s in a garden with plants and trees. And the best part is, YOU CAN’T COME. Especially Stan and Kyle,'” a third person commented, referencing South Park.
