Bunnie Xo Says Her Health Scare Made Her ‘Re-Evaluate’ Her Faith

Bunnie Xo Says Her Health Scare Made Her ‘Re-Evaluate’ Her Faith

Jelly Roll‘s wife, Bunnie Xo, has a whole new outlook on life after a major health scare earlier this month.

On Sunday (July 28), Bunnie revealed that she’d had a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedure. The results indicated a small aneurysm on her carotid artery, prompting her to get a CT scan and visit a neurosurgeon.

Fortunately, the neurosurgeon believed that the spot on Bunnie’s MRI was an artifact, which is a scan error or a benign foreign object in the scan, according to the National Library of Medicine.

In addition to getting a second opinion, Bunnie will go back for a second CT scan in six months, and she says her neurosurgeon hopes to prove his theory at that time.

In the meantime, Bunnie says that the experience has served as an important reminder about gratitude.

“I tell you what, this health scare has put so much in perspective for me,” she explains in a Facebook post. “It honestly made me want to change a lot of things in my life. Be more appreciative of my family and friends.”

She also says that confronting a potentially scary diagnosis changed the way she thinks about faith.

“It also made me reevaluate my relationship w/God & learn to have faith for the first time in my life,” she admits.

“Even my husband texting me last night saying, ‘You’re my best friend.’ Brought me to tears,” she adds.

Bunnie’s health scare was particularly frightening because she has some family history with that condition.

“Anybody that knows me know having an aneurysm is one of my biggest fears because my mom had one and it actually ruptured, but she lived,” she explained when she initially shared her health news.

The experience also forced her to confront some uncomfortable feelings about the inevitability of death.

“You have to kind of come to grips with your own mortality, and that’s never a fun experience to go through, ever,” she continues. Bunnie lost her father, Bill, to cancer in May.
