WHOA! Gretchen Wilson Reveals Why You Do NOT Want to Fight Her

Gretchen Wilson doesn’t come across as someone you’d really want to mess with, and in a new interview, she confirms that you definitely do not want to get on her fighting side.

Talking to Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul, Wilson says she’s been involved in so many bar fights over the years that it’s “too many to count,” although it’s been a long time.

“I would say the last time I was in a knock-down, drag-out, bar-brawl type situation would have been probably 25 years ago … right before things started happening for me,” she estimates.

Still, it doesn’t sound like the “Redneck Woman” singer has lost any of her fighting spirit in the years since then.

“I was taught to fight by my Uncle Vern, and it’s dirty fighting. You definitely don’t want to get into it with me, ’cause I’m nasty that way,” she says with a laugh. “I’ll pull your shirt up over your face and start hitting you with a pool stick!”

Wilson has been back in the country music spotlight in 2024 after “a few years of hiatus,” she says, releasing a new single titled “Little Miss Runner Up” and mounting a 20-year anniversary tour with longtime friends Big & Rich.

“It’s been a very successful year,” she reflects. “I’m having a blast, I feel healthy, I feel good, I feel strong.”

Wilson plans to release more new music and tour solo in 2025, “and get back at it.”
