Miranda Lambert gave fans another taste of her Postcards From Texas album over the weekend.
During a surprise pop-up at BBQ and live music venue Stubb’s Austin, the singer performed a honky-tonkin’ unreleased song called “B–ch on the Sauce,” one of the tracks on her upcoming new album.
A beer joint in her home state was the perfect backdrop to share the new track, since “B–ch on the Sauce” is all about making bad decisions, with a little bit of liquid courage. “Light that cigarette and it’s like / Aw, s–t, here comes trouble,” Lambert sings in one snippet of the song.
“Everything about you says ‘Don’t do that’ / But the devil on my shoulder’s sayin’ ‘Don’t look back’,” the lyrics continue.
Lambert’s pop-up was a very special show, and not only because it was a much more intimate venue than the larger ones she’s used to playing. Stubb’s Austin — which is located in Austin, Texas — is also the spot where she played her very first showcase as a rising artist.

“Almost exactly 20 years ago to the day (Aug 28, 2004) I played my 1st showcase for a major label here,” the singer wrote in a separate Instagram post. “I still have that same fire that I did 20 years ago and y’all sure do too.”
The full-circle moment was fitting for this point in Lambert’s career, since Postcards From Texas will be her first album since she left her label home of two decades, Sony. She has hinted that one other new song off the project — the previously-released “Dammit Randy” — was inspired in part by her decision to walk away from her longtime label.
