Kane Brown Teases Emotional New Song Ahead of Father’s Day
Brown — who is the father to two girls, Kingsley and Kodi — showed off a side of him that we have never really gotten to see this close up before.
In teasing a brand-new song, “Backseat Driver,” Brown captioned the post, “Anyone with daughters or just kids in general! Hope this song hits hard for you (Backseat Driver) Volume up!!!
The lyrics are deep rooted within his heart and deliver emotions that any parent can surely understand.
“One day I’ll look back / And I’ll miss when / My whole world wasn’t over that dash / It was back there buckled in / Saying Daddy look, there’s a plane in the sky / Are we there yet? / Did you just see that dog run by? / Do squirrels have houses in the trees? / Why would God put a stinger on a honeybee / It’s crazy all the things she sees on the side of the road out of that window beside her / I wish I could be more like her / My little dangling feet pretty in pink backseat driver.”
Are you crying yet?
Brown’s wife, Katelyn, is in the comments section of the post on Brown’s Instagram, leaving the sweetest comment.
“I have cried to many times listening to this …. I can hear her voice asking all those questions. Most beautiful real song.”
Other Instagram followers of Brown’s chimed in, as well.
“This hits different when your once backseat driver is now driving…,” one fan writes.
Brown told me in a recent interview that a new album is on the way, and he hopes to have it done and out by year’s end.
