John Schneider Claims Someone Stole His Late Wife’s Ashes

The Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider turned to social media to make an unusual claim about an alleged recent theft at his home. The actor and singer claims that someone stole the ashes of his late wife, as well as his wedding ring.

Schneider posted on July 14, sharing a picture of an ornate urn and writing, “I am truly sorry because I never thought I would be forced to stoop this low. But this is one of the things that was stolen from me out of my house. Alicia’s ashes. Attached to it was a tiny urn with ashes… A silver cross with ‘Smile’ and ‘Alicia’ on it.”

“And my wedding ring for crying out loud,” he continues. “I wonder if they’re going to give away my wedding ring and cross anytime soon? Truly disgusted.”

Schneider’s wife, Alicia Allain, died on Feb. 21, 2023, at the couple’s home in Holden, La., after battling breast cancer for four years. She was 53.

The couple married in 2019, and they co-produced a string of independent films. She also worked with Schneider on several of his musical projects, and he honored her memory with his 2023 album We’re Still Us.

He later clarified, “In case you’re wondering, and in case, I wasn’t clear enough … That is an urn. A very special urn that was missing the last time I went to the house. Also missing was my wedding ring, my cross and a little earn Alicia’s aunt gave me that I used to wear around my neck.”

Schneider also posted a picture of the urn as it had been placed in his house:

Schneider’s posting comes just a month after he previously claimed someone had stolen the replica General Lee car that his late wife had given him.

Other social media posts seem to indicate someone had been trying to sell off Schneider’s belongings online, and that he has put a temporary halt to it, though as he writes, “Pretty sure the war isn’t completely over yet … but we damn sure won this battle!”

John Schneider starred as Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard, which ran from 1979 to 1985 on CBS. He kicked off a career in country music with the 1981 release of his debut single, a cover of Elvis Presley‘s classic hit “It’s Now or Never,” reaching No. 4 on the charts.

Schneider placed a string of No. 1 hits that included “I’ve Been Around Enough to Know,” “What’s a Memory Like You (Doing in a Love Like This),” “Country Girls” and “You’re the Last Thing I Needed Tonight.” His most recent release is the patriotic-themed “Save Our Country.”
