Is Zac Brown’s Marriage Country Music’s Shortest?

Zac Brown‘s estranged wife Kelly Yazdi is opening up about the details of their short marriage and messy divorce.

The model and stuntwoman has returned to social media to share why she’s countersuing Brown.

  • Brown and Yazdi became engaged in 2022 and quietly married on Aug. 31, 2023.
  • “As we navigate this personal matter, we simply request privacy during this time,” he said when news of the divorce became public.
  • The Zac Brown Band singer was previously married to Shelly Brown, with whom he has five kids.

At the center of Yazdi’s lawsuit is footage from their wedding party. She accuses Brown of using that footage for a music video for “Beautiful Drug” (Feat. Avicii), but swapping her with an actor.

“They replaced me with a lookalike model who’s seen behaving promiscuously, irresponsibly, unprofessionally and recklessly,” Yazdi shares.

Watch the full video below to understand what’s at the heart of her countersuit, as well as what she says was the response from Brown’s team. She’s posted several other similar videos in 2024.

The six-minute-long video also lays out a timeline for their breakup: She says the wedding was in August, but they hosted a celebration in Nashville on Nov. 18. Nine days after that, Brown told her he wanted a divorce in a Zoom video call.

Yazdi says she accepted the divorce filing in February, and in May details of lawsuits and restraining orders became public. She wraps her video by stating she never wanted any of this to go public and hope it soon ends.

Brown is called her “soon-to-be ex-husband” in the caption of the post.

While 89 days is an unusually short time between wedding and breakup, it’s far from the shortest. Here is a full list of country music’s shortest marriages, including one that lasted just four days.
