When she’s not in the recording studio or selling out tour dates, Gabby Barrett‘s just a regular mom: And like any mom, she squeezes in her grocery runs whenever she can.
“Who else goes grocery shopping almost when the store closes because you have no other time to do it during the day?” the singer says in a new social media video, where she takes fans along on a typical late-night grocery run to Publix.
In the video, you can see how dark it is as Barrett walks into the store.
“This is, like, kind of scary doing it this late at night, too. I always get weirded out,” she comments.
Through the rest of the clip — set to No Doubt’s “Just a Girl” – Barrett takes her followers along for the ride as she loads up her shopping cart with kid-friendly groceries like fresh strawberries, chicken tenders, cheese, eggs and fruit pouches.
The “I Hope” star is a mom of three – 3-year-old Baylah, almost-2-year-old Augustine and 6-month-old Ivy — and she has sung about her experience of parenthood in releases like “Glory Days” and “Dance Like No One’s Watching.”
Barrett shares her children with her husband Cade Foehner, whom she met while both were contestants on American Idol.
Late last year, she responded to fan opinions that her focus on family, marriage and faith is “ruining” her career.
“I treasure a Godly marriage over anything the world could offer,” she said at the time, noting that she’s turned down duets with male country stars because they’ve been love songs that are “really intimate wording-wise” and could potentially “jeopardize” her marriage.
Barrett’s most recent album, Chapter & Verse, arrived in early February of this year.
